He then moved to Philadelphia to attend medical school. Following medical school at Jefferson, Dr. Riff stayed in Philadelphia for residency and fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. During his final year of fellowship, he was selected as chief fellow. While he was at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Riff completed a clinical research certificate program via the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Dr. Riff happily returned to Orange County in 2016 to join AGMG. He is a resident of Corona Del Mar.
Dr. Riff’s clinical interests are pancreatic disease, biliary disease, and pre-malignant lesions of the gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Riff has highly specialized training and experience in many endoscopic procedures including: endoluminal stenting of the esophagus, duodenum and colon; radiofrequency ablation for Barrett's Esophagus; endoscopic ultrasound; ERCP; endoscopic mucosal resection and complex polypectomy. He has lectured and published original research and book chapters on many gastrointestinal disorders.
“I think gastroenterology is the best field of medicine. One minute, I can help a patient in the hospital who is bleeding and very sick. Later, I can help prevent someone from getting colon cancer or see a long term patient with a complex disease like IBD or liver disease. I have a passion for my work and hope to provide the best care to all my patients.”
